Summer Reflection: Sand and rocks
This summer I’ve spent a fair few evenings and weekends on the local beach.
Somedays we build sandcastles, others we go rock-pooling.
While on the rocks the other day, I noticed that fisherman had chiselled their initials and the year into the rocks next to the traditional fishing huts (a famous sight on this coast).
Some of the dates were from hundreds of years ago.
How many carefully crafted sandcastles with turrets, moats, tunnels and seashell embellishments have been washed away by the tide in the time since these rough carvings were made?
As founders we want to ‘make our mark’ on our agency, and the world.
But how much of our focus goes on building fancy things with sand and how much on roughly shaping the rocks that will outlast us?
How might you work more with rock, to make a more lasting mark on your business, and this planet?
